One cool thing with Patapon 2 is that some of the boss battles are directly affected by the weather – Dodonga is one of them. When it’s foggy it is a different battle as well as when it’s snowing. The fog Dodonga isn’t really any different, but Ice Dodonga is one of those things that you’ll be apt to beat your head against the wall over for awhile.
Oh lord am I in love – the different difficulty modes make it great for anyone to get into patapon, once again the music is going to infect you until you have it running through your head all day long, the evolution tree stuff is very neat, and I’m about 14 missions in and just loving every damn second. It’s not necessarily breaking any new ground, but for me more patapon is all I want. I haven’t had a chance to try out multiplayer mode though – I’ll come in with a review on that as soon as I can.
Although Patapon 2 isn’t making its way over here until May 5th, you can take a look at what some sites / magazines are saying about Patapon 2 ahead of time.
If there’s one thing that always boggled my mind, it’s the fact that there’s a real lack of patapon merchandize out there, whether here or in Japan. Sure there’s those plushies coming out soon, but Patapon 1 just hit a year old yesterday and it doesn’t have teeshirts or anything that I can find. However, that doesn’t stop people from making their own – you gotta love all the wild stuff you can find on the internet! Cruising along at Deviant Art, I found some truly incredible Patapon finds that you just have to check out for yourself! I have a ton of stuff saved from all over, so this is going to be coming at you in a few parts so you don’t get patapon’ed out right away – if such a thing is possible.
Bobsmade on Deviant Art has handpainted these absolutely marvelous shoes. Want them for yourself? You can get custom shoes from Bob starting at $90, although he also offers shirts and a plethora of other items as well – check out the price list at Bob’s blog.
If you don’t remember this plant o fun from patapon, don’t worry – Eviljackspicer on Deviantart certainly has, and it’s taking over his house!

Last but not least for now, we have Patapon costumes – Sadako10 at Deviant Art found these lost patapons wandering around at WCG Coscon ‘08 and snapped a quick picture – that rocks so hard!
This is so, so bizarre – and so frikkin hilarious.
So pretty early on in the wait for Patapon 2, I realized that the US was kind of getting…oh I don’t know, shafted when it came to the Patapon 2 release date. Months and months went by – hell I knew the Australian release date before a glimmer of the US date was in anyone’s eyes. Now all of the Patapon fans that I know are generally head over heels in love with this game, and are all frothing at the mouth in order to get their hands on it. My Japanese was far too rusty to just pick that version up from Play Asia, so I was waiting for the Europe pre orders to go up. Now I find out that you can’t order internationally direct from the Amazon.co.uk site. Needless to say, I wanted to strangle someone at this point. However, there is a light at the end of this tunnel – a light called Everythingplay LTD. These glorious glorious angels will ship internationally through the amazon.co.uk site, so you can get Patapon 2 just a week after the Euro release. They also have their own site at Everythingplay.com – who would have thought 
My search is over, and my soul is pleased to not be bloody waiting until June to get my hands on an English language version. Oh and in case you were wondering ,being depressed over the whole when is it going to be released thing was the reason I haven’t been filling up this site with news and such Now I can be happy again in the land of Patapon!
